“Cloverfield” is pure adrenaline-filled fun, and about a scary as you can get with a PG-13 rated monster flick. It begins as the story of a bunch of attractive twenty-something New Yorkers planning a surprise party for their friend who’s moving to Japan. It’s raw video, filled with bad edits, shaky camera movements and just enough character development to let you know what’s going on with the main characters.
