“Mirrors”
20th Century Fox Films
Directed by Alexandre Aja
Starring Kiefer Sutherland, Paula Patton, Amy Smart, Mary Beth Peil, Cameron Boyce and Erica Gluck
Rated R

I spent my college years working as a night watchman, so I can attest
that patrolling a big empty building can give you a definite sense of
the creeps. From the weird, echoing noises, to the unidentifiable
silhouettes off in the distance, even the sudden screeching of an
animal when you disturb its rest; all of those chills came flooding
back to me as I sat down to watch the new horror flick “Mirrors.” And
much like real life, this is a film that starts out strong, but turns
silly once you bring the lights up on the plot.

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”
Warner Brothers Pictures
Directed by Dave Filoni
Starring Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, Bradley
Baker, Tom Kane, Nika Futterman, Ian Abercrombie, Corey Burton, Samuel
L. Jackson, Anthony Daniels and Christopher Lee
Rated PG
2 ½ Stars
“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is certainly an exciting adventure, but
grown up fans will have to come to grips with the fact that George
Lucas and friends are now only making movies for the younglings. This
latest animated film to hit local theaters is chock full of action and
light saber duels, but it’s noticeably missing many of the grown up
elements that made “Star Wars” into something more than just a
space-based soap opera.
