All Victoria emergency services are back to normal operations this Wednesday evening as any threat from Hurricane Dolly has now passed.

After slamming ashore near Brownsville with winds in excess of 100 miles per hour, the sustained winds of Hurricane Dolly have now decreased to 85 mph.

Hurricane Dolly, packing winds of 100 miles per hour, stormed the beaches of South Padre Island near Brownsville just before 2:00 o’clock this afternoon.

At 12:00 noon Victoria time, Dolly was located at latitude 26.2 north at longitude 97.0 west, packing winds up to 100 miles per hour.
