YOU'LL FIND HER HERE MOST MORNINGS........GREETING STUDENTS ON THEIR WAY TO CLASS.
PRINCIPAL GINGER HENRY OF VICKERS ELEMENTARY SAYS THAT ENCOURAGING STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF HER DAY.
WITH 580 STUDENTS AND 74 STAFF MEMBERS, HER DAY CERTAINLY IS NOT ROUTINE. HOWEVER SHE SAYS SHE LOVES HER JOB. JUST KNOWING THAT SHE IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE EACH DAY.
<"She takes care of things right away. She does'nt procrastinate. And she supports her faculty and is always grateful and appreciative of the things that we do. And she'll tell you, and she'll email you saying your doing a good job." >Tracey Burgman\School Counselor
<"I don't remember her being recognized too many times for all the hard work she's put in the district. So it's about time she got the recognition she deserves." >Laura Goedrich\Fine Arts Teacher
MS. HENRY'S GOAL IS SIMPLE. CHILDREN FIRST. SEEKING THE BEST FOR THE CHILDREN THE PARENTS AND HER STAFF.
Ms. Henry has an impressive history with VISD. Prior to being principal at Vickers, she was principal at Stanley Elementary. Then when the school closed, she was the very first Principal at Chandler Elementary..
HAVING AN OPEN DOOR POLICY, SHE WANTS TO CONNECT WITH STUDENTS, PARENTS AND STAFF.
SHE'S READY TO LEND A LISTENING EAR, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, WANTS TO BE A PROBLEM SOLVER.
<"I reflect back on the day to see what it is we accomplished. And because it's a team. it's about us at Vickers. And we reflect back on how the day went and what we can do differently tomorrow." >Ginger Henry\Educator Of The Week
<"She made alot of changes this year, such as expectations and visions. We do it everyday, I don't know what we would do without her." >Ryan Stafford\4th Grade Student
