Season tickets for the inaugural baseball and softball seasons of the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars will go on sale Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 9 am in the Jaguars Athletic Office located on the UHV campus.

Season tickets can be purchased in person or over the phone by calling 361-570-4336 and charging them to either Visa or MasterCard.  Season tickets will not be sold online at this time, according to Walyuchow.

The softball schedule includes 14 home games, all of which will be played at Burdge Field located in the Saint Joseph High School-O’Connor Athletic Complex, 3006 North Cameron Street.

The baseball season includes 24 home games and all will be played at Riverside Stadium.

“Season tickets to our softball and baseball games make an excellent Christmas gift for the sports fan in any family,” said UHV athletic director Ashley Walyuchow. “Prices are very affordable.”

Even though the athletic program is entering its first season, Victoria is proving to be a popular destination for visiting schools.  Teams are coming from as far away as Boston, Yankton, South Dakota and Milwaukee to visit Victoria this spring. 

“The caliber of competition will be high,” said Walyuchow. “We have some NCAA competition coming in to play us in softball and we have NAIA playoff teams visiting us in baseball.”

There are a number of double headers scheduled for both teams and that is a result of a concerted effort to reduce the class time missed by student athletes, explained Walyuchow.
