T'S ONLY 8:30 IN THE MORNING AND THESE 4TH GRADERS AT SMITH ELEMENTARY ARE BUZZING WITH MATH.....STUDYING FRACTIONS AND DECIMALS.
TEACHER KELLY PARMA RUNS A TIGHT SHIP WITH HER 23 STUDENTS, AS ALL SEEM TO FOCUS ON THEIR SCHOOL WORK.

ONE IN SOUTH HOUSTON AND JUST LAST YEAR IN SAN ANTONIO.
STUDENTS SAY IT'S HER FRIENDLY SMILE AND TEACHING MANOR IS WHAT'S MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
