BY THIS TIME TOMORROW NIGHT, WE WILL KNOW IF THE CUERO GOBBLERS WILL PLAY FOR THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS DECADE.
IT'S THE THIRD TIME IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS THE GOBBLERS HAVE MADE IT TO THE FINAL FOUR.
THIS TIME, THEY FACE A CHINA SPRING TEAM LED BY QUARTERBACK DUSTIN ESKEW, A VERY ACCURATE PASSER. OUR CHASE GALLIMORE ASKED THE GOBBLERS ABOUT THEM.
"We expect them to come out tricking us", said Kaeron Johnson, Cuero Tight End. "They run 10-20 trick plays a game. If he can stop that, you can stop the pass and the team. That's what we plan of doing."
"I know they have a great offense", said Patrick Nami, Cuero Offensive Guard. "Their quarterback does everything for them. He either throws it or runs it. He's their leading rusher and passer. To help our secondary, we need to get a pass rush."
"They're pretty aggressive", said Rick Owens, Cuero Offensive Line Coach. "They just do a great job of overall defense at running their base stuff. "

"Main thing is we have to control the football on offense and keep their offense off the football field", said Mark Reeve, Cuero Football Head Coach. "Our kids have done a great job of that all year, stikcing the ball in the end zone. It's no different this week."
CUERO'S LATEST TRIP TO THE STATE 3A DIVISION TWO SEMIFINALS IS A TRIP TO OUR STATE CAPITOL CITY.
IT'S THE GOBBLERS AND CHINA SPRING COUGARS SATURDAY NIGHT AT SIX AT BURGER STADIUM IN AUSTIN.
