"I'm a good listener, I've learned thru this job, that listening is probably one of the most important skills and probably one of the most difficult skills." says Linda Allen, Principal for 13 years at Aloe Elementary in Victoria
Pam Groll\T A Teacher at Aloe Elementary says"Mrs Allen is one who lets you talk to her and come up with your own ideas. And try some things that other principals might not let you try.">
Teacher Mary Placker says] <"She's special, she's fair and she has'nt forgotten what it's like to be a teacher, going thru everything that a teacher needs to go thru.">
I ASKED WHAT A TYPICAL DAY WAS LIKE FOR MRS ALLEN, SHE REPLIED THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE THING THAT IS CONSTANT THING IN HER LIFE.... IT'S CHANGE NEVER QUITE KNOWING WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.
BUT BEING FLEXIBLE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A STUDENTS LIFE.......FROM A TEARFUL MOMENT TO LAUGHTER. TAKING THE TIME IS SHOWING STUDENTS AND TEACHERS THAT YOU CARE.
<"You help because when we get done with TAKS, you support us a lot and you come on the intercom and say good job 5th graders.">says Autumn Hollander\Student<" I think it's a rare occasion when you look people in the eye and say you love your boss. I love Mrs. Allen, not only not only for what she does for this campus, but what she inspires others to do.">Jamey Gillespie\Teacher
AS SHE SPENDS TIMES WITH YOUNGSTERS IN PRE-K AND KINDER, SHE KNOWS THAT SHE IS PLANTING A SEED OF SELF CONFIDENCE THAT WILL CONTINUE LONG AFTER SCHOOL.
<"I've seen them in junior high. I've had them come up to me at HEB saying remember me, you were my first grade teacher. Remember me you took me home after baseball practice, and of course I don't remember them until they tell me who they are.">Linda Allen\Educator Of The Week
