STICKING WITH OUR CUERO THEME AT SIX, THE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK COMES FROM THE GOBBLER CAPITOL OF THE WORLD. OUR CHASE GALLIMORE HAS HIS STORY. THE NEWSCENTER 25 ATHLETE OF THE WEEK GOES TO CUERO HIGH SCHOOL IN THE NAME OF KAERON JOHNSON. LAST WEEKEND, JOHNSON EARNED HIS 3RD STRAIGHT TRIP TO THE STATE TRACK MEET BY WINNING REGIONALS IN DISCUSS. THIS YEAR, THE REGION CHAMP FEELS HE'S STRONGER THAN EVER. "This time last year, I wasn't even breaking the 170 mark", said Johnson. "At regionals, I threw 176. School record is 180 and right now that's my goal."
