THE FLYERS HAVE JUST STARTED THEIR SECOND WEEK OF SPRING WORKOUTS, AND I ASKED HEAD COACH JOHN MARES HOW THE FIRST WEEK WAS.
"Oh it was a good week", said Mares. "We've seen a lot of the kids that really got into the weight room at the end of last football season. You can tell they're a step ahead of those that didn't. We've seen a lot of improvement. What looked better in the first week, the offense or the defense? The offense gets the nod. They're looking alright. Do they have more experience back than the defense does? When you put it on paper, we're all about even on that. The offensive line is back with the exception of one. They're picking up where they left off." THE FLYERS BEGIN THE FOOTBALL SEASON ON AUGUST 29TH AT REFUGIO.
