Dodging Rain Showers To Broadcast Live From Goliad Print E-mail

Newscenter 25 is taking the 6pm newscast on the road this evening to Goliad.  It is part of our Hometown News remote broadcast series from communities in our broadcast area.  Over the past few months, we had broadcast live from Port Lavaca, Edna and Cuero, and we intend to do it again this evening from Goliad.  The only thing that will stop us is if lightening is embedded in any of the rain showers that are passing through the area.  The live truck that provides the signal for the broadcast has a mast that gives 40 feet into the air to transmit the signal back to Victoria.  If there is lightning in the area, there are safety issues that have to be considered, and the live broadcast might have to be rescheduled at a later date.

But for now, plans are moving ahead for the broadcast from Goliad.  We will have reports on the various aspects of what makes Goliad the historic city that it is, plus the latest on all of the news of the day, including new developments in the Michael Ratcliff case.  It’s all coming up on Newscenter 25 at 6pm.
