SUMMER KIDS PLAY GOLF

A DOUBLE DOSE OF OUR SUMMER KIDS PLAY SERIES, WE CALL IT CHIPS AND CHOPS. CHASE FIRST GETS WITH THE CHIPPERS IN YOUTH GOLF.
FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS, THE GAME OF GOLF HAS GROWN TO AN ALL TIME HIGH IN POPULARITY. MORE AND MORE YOUNG PEOPLE SEEM TO BE PICKING UP THE SPORT WHICH IS CERTAINLY THE CASE IN VICTORIA.
"I play golf because, I tried all the other sports and they just were not me", said Victorian Shannon Hawes. "So, then I started playing golf and it turned out this is something I really liked." "How long have you been playing golf? Almost all my life", said Greyson Parker of Port Lavaca. "2-3 years ago, I really started getting into it." "My brothers played and they got me into it", said Victorian Maddy Buhler. "I think it's fun. It helps your game." ONE OF THE VENUES FOR YOUNG GOLFERS TO SHOWCASE THEIR TALENTS IS THE SOUTHERN TEXAS PGA TOUR WHICH RECENTLY MADE A STOP AT THE VICTORIA COUNTRY CLUB. SEVERAL AREA KIDS TOOK PART IN THE COMPETITION AND POSTED SOME PRETTY IMPRESSIVE SCORES.
"I played real good", said Matthew Pohler. I was hitting my drive real well. The greens were fast. But I had just one 3 putt and that was it. I played pretty good.> "To come out and win this tournament feels pretty good", said Vance Cavazos. "I've been feeling pretty good the past couple of weeks. I took it to the tournament and won." "For STPGA this is my 3rd win", said Kelsey Canales. "I've won a few outside of STPGA and at school."
ONE OF THE REASONS GOLF HAS BECOME SO POPULAR IS THE EMERGENCE OF THE SPORTS BIGGEST STAR. AND IT THAT SAME GOLFER SEEMS TO BE EVERYONES FAVORITE.
AND WHETHER ITS BECAUSE OF TIGER WOODS OR JUST THE LOVE OF THE GAME, KIDS ARE PLAYING GOLF IN SOUTH TEXAS. FROM THE VICTORIA COUNTRY CLUB, I'M CHASE GALLIMORE, NEWSCENTER 25 SPORTS.
