Hurricane Dolly is taking its time moving ashore near the Brownsville area. At 12:00 noon Victoria time, Dolly was located at latitude 26.2 north at longitude 97.0 west. That puts it a little north of the last plot a few hours ago. Newscenter 25 Meteorologist Sarah McKenna says that despite this slight jog to the north, she expects the storm to get back on a northwesterly track within the next few hours and make landfall just north of Brownsville. The Eye wall of the storm is hitting South Padre Island with winds around 100 miles per hour and gusts even higher. We will have further updates on Hurricane Dolly, a Category 2 hurricane, throughout the afternoon on this Website.
