UHV Expansion Meeting Brings Out The Community

For more than two hours, citizens stepped up to the mic to tell the "Committee on Expanding Access to Higher Education" how they feel about the topic of four year expansion. UHV President Tim Hudson was astonished at the community's turnout.
"Well this is an absolutely phenominal day...to have 400 citizens or so come out to talk about an issue that is so important to the future of this community, it was inspirational. And I think everybody on the commission was a little bit overwhelmed by such passionate responses from everybody and it just proves this is a key issue for the city of Victoria."
The committee will be meeting Tuesday to make an October deadline to file proposed legislation with State Representative Geanie Morrison. She will then present it before the 2009 Texas State Legislature.
