ON THEIR HOMECOMING NIGHT, AND THE NIGHT OF THEIR DISTRICT FOOTBALL OPENER, THE VIPERS CAME SO CLOSE TO GETTING A HUGE WIN OVER CARROLL.
HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT GET IT DONE, AND THEY SUFFERED THEIR FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON.
I ASKED TWO VIPERS HOW DISAPPOINTING THE LOSS WAS, AND HOW MUCH HARDER THEY WILL WORK THIS WEEK FUELED BY THAT DISAPPOINTMENT. "We thought we were really good before that and we realize we weren't the top, we weren't the best", said rover Jacob Moehrig. "We'll work harder to try to be the best now that we know we're the best." "It's been really hard because we really thought we would beat them", said wide receiver/rover Niko Ramirez. "I'm real impressed with the way we played against them, though. We held their running back pretty well, defense did a good job. Offense could've done a little bit better by holding on to the ball. It helped us realize that we need to work harder and push ourselves a lot more to be to the top." THE VIPERS VISIT SOUTH SAN FRIDAY NIGHT AT 7:30, TICKETS ARE ON SALE AT THE VISD ATHLETIC OFFICE UNTIL NOON FRIDAY.
