The exhibit is titled "Branches, Bristles and Batteries: Toothbrushes through time." It officially opened to the public Wednesday.
Children from Methodist Day School were among the first kids to explore the new exhibit and play around with the different components
The exhibit features various items to help kids learn about oral hygiene, including a giant mouth and toothbrush so kids can practice proper brushing techniques and a computer game showing them toothbrushes throughout history. Also on hand was Brushella, a character from the computer game to guide kids through the exhibit.
Executive Director Cathy Lowe says finding new ways make learning fun for kids is one of the reasons she wanted to bring the exhibit to Victoria.
"So it's a fun way for them to find out things about how toothbrushes were even invented and what people used to use to clean their teeth and why it's important to clean their teeth; they hear it from the parents all the time, but if they hear it from other people, sometimes it sticks a little bit better."
The Museum teamed up with the Guadalupe Valley District Dental Socieity to bring the exhibit to Victoria. It will remain in town through January 5th.
