Text messaging is a growing craze among young people that has been sweeping the nation since its introduction at the turn of the century. NewsCenter 25’s Emily Collins says Victoria residents using Verizon Wireless sent over two million text messages in the month of April, which is six times the amount sent in the same month two years ago. So what is it about text messaging that young people love so much? Why has it become such an integral part of young people’s culture? We take to the streets of Victoria to find out why young people would much rather text than talk, and how this technology has become an important tool used by many organizations.
