THE ST. JOE FLYERS ARE NOT COMING INTO THE PLAYOFFS RIDING AN EIGHT-GAME WINNING STREAK, NOR ARE THEY COMING IN AS DISTRICT CHAMPS. SAN ANTONIO CHRISTIAN ENDED THOSE STREAKS. HEAD COACH JOHN MARES SAID IT WAS A WAKEUP CALL. TWO FLYERS TOLD ME THIS.
"We're all pretty disappointed", said running back Kamen Ruelas. "Overall we didn't play our best and had a bad performance. We made a lot of turnovers and we weren't doing things like we normally would. We didn't really play good football." "We're pretty disappointed", said outside linebacker Jacob Gonzales. "We lost our shutout streak, that was disappointing. We didn't lose all of our confidence but just a loss is disappointing, not winning a District championship." THE FLYERS HOST TOMBALL CONCORDIA LUTHERAN IN THE BI-DISTRICT PLAYOFFS. IT'S THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, 7:30, PATTI WELDER STADIUM.
