IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO WEEKS SINCE THE CALHOUN SANDCRABS HAVE PLAYED A FOOTBALL GAME. SINCE THEN, THE SANDCRABS HAVE BEEN GETTING READY FOR THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT PLAYOFF APPEARANCE, AND THEY TALKED WITH OUR ROSS KINNAIRD.
"We've had good practices", said center Juan Carlos Rodriguez. "We work hard and we should be going into the playoffs good. We're a healthy team right now. Everybody we have is all we need."
"I feel very excited", said running back/free safety Xavier Archangel. "A little down because we weren't playing up to our potential, but I feel excited now because I know our guys are ready to play."
"We've been up and down toward the end of District", said head coach Richard Whitaker. "I still know our best football's ahead of us and that's a great feeling. Going into this next part of the season the kids really seemed to start turning it up and really getting excited about it."
THE CALHOUN SANDCRABS WILL OPEN THE 4A FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS HERE ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

THEY WILL NOT FACE FLORESVILLE'S STAR QUARTERBACK, TONY PALOMO, WHO'S OUT FOR THE SEASON WITH TWO TORN LIGAMENTS IN HIS LEFT KNEE.
