The school is the recipient of a three thousand dollar check from Keep Victoria Beautiful, which the school will use to start a recycling program.

The money came from the Green Bag Grant Program and was given as part of Texas Recycles Day. The grant is funded through a five cent contribution from the sale of HEB Reusable Green Bags.

The Grant Program began in April of this year to let people know about the importance of re-using and recycling. HEB Plus General Manager Doug Wallace says The Green Bags have been flying off the shelves since the program started.

"A lot of customers love the green bags. We actually brought them in different colors and supporting different colleges and you know different areas in which we operate, so the customers love it."

In the eight months since the program started, the company has raised 50 thousand dollars in grant money to be distributed to Texas communities.
