SPECIAL TEAMS DON'T USUALLY GET AS MUCH FOOTBALL ATTENTION, BUT THE ST. JOE SPECIAL TEAMS WERE SPECIAL IN THEIR PLAYOFF OPENING WIN.
KEVIN DANIELS KICKED A 41-YARD FIELD GOAL, AND THE FLYERS RAN A PUNT BACK FOR A SCORE IN THE BI-DISTRICT WIN OVER CONCORDIA LUTHERAN.
"Any time special teams scores or get that big hit, it gets everybody fired up", said head coach John Mares. "Coach Platz been doing a good job with them. He and Coach Williams work together and they've really done a good job this year with the kids. Was the punt return for a touchdown a game-changer? It was. It definitely pointed things in our direction. Any time you return a punt back like that, that's exciting."
THE FLYERS' NEXT PLAYOFF GAME IS A REAL TEST.
