It started around 7:15 inside a furnace at the Oxy-vinyl Plant. Plant officials say as a precaution, they called for a shelter in place in nearby communities. It has since been lifted. The fire was quickly contained and posed no threat to anyone.

"We have accounted for all of our employess and contractors and there's no reported injuries. We've notified all agencies and local municipalities to coordinate and mitigate this incident," says Plant Manager Karen Anne Stegmann.

Plant officials say the furnance involved in Tuesdaymorning's fire helps produce feedstock material.
