It all started back in mid-September with a formal complaint by a set of parents.
A mother and father filed the complaint with Ridgeview Middle School, saying the book "TTYL" is too graphic. It includes suggestive language and inappropriate relationships between students and teachers.
The school reviewed the complaint, then denied it. That was appealed and an independent committee reviewed that and decided the book would stay.
The school board was set to review this on the 20th but the district superintendent stepped in and make the decision.
Doctor Jesus Chavez said right from the very beginning he didn't think the book was appropriate for everyone at that school and wanted it off library shelves. But after discussing it with legal counsel,he knew it had to go through the whole process before he made his decision.
