Officials say the passenger transporting the contraband, is a legal permanent resident of the U.S. and arrived from Istanbul, Turkey . The individual was arrested and turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement on drug charges in connection with the seizure. During the inspection process, CBP officials said they physically examined the bag and detected an unusual thickness of the walls of the luggage. An x-ray image was obtained and abnormalities were detected within the walls of each piece of luggage. The lining of the bags revealed a brown powdery substance that tested positive for Opium. CBP estimates the street value of this seizure to be approximately 700 thousand dollars.
