FINALLY, ONE OF VICTORIA'S OLDEST SPORTS FACILITIES HAS NEW OWNERS AND A NEW LOOK.
THE RIBBON-CUTTING FOR THE GRAND REOPENING OF WOODLAWN BOWLING CENTER ON THURSDAY. ONE OF THE NEW CO-OWNERS IS 22 YEARS OLD.
"Actually when we bought the place it was the first I ever stepped foot in the door", said co-owner Brian Ferguson. "My bowling dealt with Friday night bowling, going to have fun, that's about it. How did you get the idea to buy Woodlawn? Me and my partner, Bull Martinez, flip houses here in town. He bought this to be our office. We had enough people come in the door that asked us to reopen it, so we reopened it."
MR. FERGUSON SAID WOODLAWN FIRST OPENED 60 YEARS AGO AS A MOVIE THEATER, THEN CHANGED INTO BOWLING IN THE EARLY 50'S.
