Doctors at Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca are speaking out about financial trouble at the facility.

At Thursday morning's County Commissioners Court meeting at the Calhoun County Courthouse, doctors and staff members employed at Memorial Medical Center asked commissioners if trustee term limits exist.

Trustee Russell Cane says he told commissioners that hospital employees continue calling him concerned that they will lose their jobs if they come forward.

As the meeting came to a close, Cane says commissioners acknowledged the need for an open community forum concerning health care practices at the hospital.

Memorial Medical Center is a county owned hospital, meaning any current issues, unable to be resolved internally, must go through the Calhoun County Commissioners Court
