It's been a long process, and now three years later, after much research, planning and feedback from the community,

downward expansion at the University of Houston Victoria has officially been approved by Govenor Rick Perry.

The legislation signed by the Govenor allows the University to become a four year institution. As of now it serves only Juniors and Seniors. the school is hoping to make UHV a true destination university.  Next on the agenda, recruiting 190 underclassmen to begin school in the fall of 2010.

UHV Chief of staff, Margaret Rice says students will be drawn from major metropolitan areas such as Houston, Austin San Antonio as well as across the state.
