Written by Steve Broussard

For the past five weeks a student acting workshop has been taking place at the Central Church of Christ in Victoria, for a performance before a live audience.

The cast 80 plus strong......students from 1st thru 6th grade..

Members of Mid-Coast Family Services have produce the camp rock series and have performed the series on good choices.

Today, the tables are turned and the kids are the actors.

The musical adaptation is from the high school musical movies.

The play deals with pressures that most teens and kids face......dealing with temptations and going with good choices.

The musical performance was a first for some of these kids.

"At First I was nervous, but when I got out, I wasn't nervous." says Student Actor Hanna Galvan

Student Actor Brandon Baladez says

"The hardest part was when you have to dance and get the moves right. And mess up on your sentences on your lines."

And they were proud moments for families and parents to see their young ones act on stage.

<"It made me feel really proud just to see that he's having fun with that smile on his face and also seeing his friends enjoying it also." Says Parent Jenette Alegria, who’s son was in the production.

The hope is that not only was the performance entertaining but it will help these students in making the right choices.

All 80 kids were part of a summer program at Central Church of Christ on Airline in Victoria.
