The Jaguars are in the top 15 in the NAIA pre-season poll.

The UHV softball team is number 13 in the NAIA national pre-season poll released Tuesday afternoon.  The Jaguars were 12th in the final regular season poll last year, that was after they went as high as 10th.  The Jaguars start their third season on the 13th hosting San Jacinto College at the St. Joe Field of Dreams.
"I'm very pleased", said head coach Keri Lambeth. "I know that you have to earn your way into the top 10, so this gives us something to shoot for. Being number 13 coming out of the gate is a great opportunity for us to prove that we are worthy of being in the top 25."
"We're very excited", said assistant coach Lindsey Ferguson. "We talked about it today with the new girls about our history and where we came from and what a big deal it is to come from nothing to be a team that's not only ranked in the top 25 but in the top 15. That's been one of our goals this year, our fourth goal on our list of 10 is to stay ranked in the top 15 all year long. This is a great start."
