The team, consisting of 8th grader David Du and 7th graders Jake Smitherman, Richard McCleon, and Shelbie Vanbeveren, took 1st place at the competition held Saturday in the Our Lady of Victory Gymnasium. 

Other schools participating in the competition were from Crain, Howell, Travis, Our Lady of Victory, and Trinity. 

Nazareth Academy 8th grader David Du won the individual title.

The team is excited in their advance to the state competition to be held in Austin on March 26.

The school received $200 due to the accomplishment.
