From Air Travel to Vehicle Travel, Many Will Be Packing Up For Thanksgiving

Travelers began in the wee hours of the morning not driving, but using other modes of travel.

At 5am The Victoria Regional Airport, and some of the only lights, are from the airport terminal.

Although the flight leaves at 6am, travelers are checking in their baggage, and getting their seat assignments for the commuter plane travel to Houston.

Some were traveling within Texas and other Parts of the world

"To Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. I have friends out there, that are terrific. And it's sort of a tradition to go to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving." says Air Traveler Dr. Ruth Constant

"I'm taking an airplane ride out of Victoria. Gonna go to San Juan Puerto Rico to visit my girlfriend."> says Dave Garcia

According to AAA , more than 38 million Americans will travel 50 miles for the thanksgiving weekend..

I spoke with some who were on the road, about where they were headed.

"We're gonna have a very unique Thanksgiving this year. Because we are going to College Station for the U.T A&M game and we're gonna have Thanksgiving Lunch Tailgating." says Bob And Sandra Tumberson

But for those who travel on the road, the Texas Department of Public Safety reminds drivers that when your packing the car for the Thanksgiving trip. Be sure to pack your patience and and obey all traffic laws.

"People forget that it is one of the busiest travel days of the season. And if they don't leave in sufficient time, to reach their destination, you should probably add time. You should try to leave early, don't  plan to be in a hurry and enjoy your drive." says DPS Trooper Jason Price
